CCIBD Co-hosted Conference Again on Chinese Entrepreneurship in Canada

On June 26th, 2016, the Canada-China Institute for Business & Development (CCIBD), in collaboration with the Canadian Entrepreneurship & Innovation Platform, Center for Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurship Research at Tsinghua University (COCER), and Canadian-Chinese Finance Association, successfully co-hosted a full day conference on Chinese entrepreneurship at the Ted Rogers School of Management. Two hundred participants from different communities in Toronto came to listen to, and interact with the invited speakers.conference4

This is the fourth event jointly conducted by CCIBD and Tsinghua University in the area of entrepreneurship, and the unique background of this conference is the anticipation of a closer relationship between Canada and China under the new federal government. Invited speakers, including Mr. Chunlin Feng from the Consulate General of PRC in Toronto, Professor Zhi Yang from the People’s University of China, Ms. Yajun Jiang from SoOPak.com, and Mr. Charles Wen from Green Owl Mobile talked about how innovation and the use of big data are changing the business landscapes in both countries. The most exciting part of the conference was the panel discussion in which four successful Chinese entrepreneurs shared their experiences on how to establish and grow business in Canada.
